20. Yüzyılın başlarında avangard sanat hareketlerinin de etkisiyle geleneksel sanat anlatımlarına yönelik bir eleştiri ve saldırı söz konusuydu. Bu eleştirilerin odağında sanatın elitist ya da seçkinci yönü hedef alınmaktaydı. Yüzyıllar boyunca belli toplumsal katmanların tekelinde olan ve içeriğin esas olduğu anlatımcı sanat görüşüne yönelik bir kuşku ve nefret duygusu hakimdi. Bu nedenle sanat bundan sonra sadece kendini anlatmalıydı. Dolayısıyla malzeme, form ve indirgemeci eğilimler sanatın konusu haline gelecekti. Bu çerçevede 1960-70 yılları arasında Minimal Art, Minimaliz ya da ABC Sanatı olarak adlandırılan sanat hareketi basit, tekrara dayalı ve geleneksel heykel ve resim anlayışının dışında paratikler ile adından söz ettirmeye başladı. Bu yeni sanat hareketi özellikle Soyut Dışavurumculuğun kişisel jestlerini hedef aldı. Minimal Sanat romantik dışavurumun aksine forma dayalı fizikselliği korumaya çalıştı. Bu bağlamda Minimal Sanatın önemli temsilcilerinden Donald Judd bu araştırmanın konusu olacaktır. |

In the early 20th century, with the influence of avant-garde art movements, there was a criticism and attack on traditional artistic expressions. At the center of these criticisms was the elitist or elitist aspect of art. There was a sense of suspicion and hatred towards the expressive view of art, which had been the monopoly of certain social layers for centuries, and in which content was the basis. Therefore, from now on, art should only express itself. Therefore, material, form and reductionist tendencies would become the subject of art. In this framework, between 1960-70, the art movement called Minimal Art, Minimalism or ABC Art started to make a name for itself with simple, repetitive and out of the traditional understanding of sculpture and painting. This new art movement specifically targeted the personal gestures of Abstract Expressionism. Contrary to romantic expressionism, Minimal Art tried to preserve physicality based on form. In this context, Donald Judd, one of the important representatives of Minimal Art, will be the subject of this research. |
