Abstract
Günümüzde tüm dünyada olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de insanların tatil tercihlerindeki değişim farklı turizm türlerinin ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Türkiye’nin dağlık alanlarının dolayısıyla kırsal mekânlarının geniş alanlar kaplaması bu alanların potansiyellerinin en uygun şekilde değerlendirmelerini gerekli kılmaktadır. Alternatif bir turizm türü olan kırsal turizm, kırsal alanlar adına alternatif bir gelir kaynağı oluşturmakta, yörelerin kırsal kalkınması, istihdamının sağlanması, sosyo kültürel yapısının gelişmesi için önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmada dağlık ve kırsal bir coğrafyada yer alan Çağlayancerit ilçesinin mevcut kırsal turizm potansiyelini ortaya koymak, yörenin güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini belirlemek, fırsat ve olası tehdit unsurlarını tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Çağlayancerit’in akarsuları, rekreasyon alanları, yaylaları, tarımsal faaliyetleri, Avrupa Birliği’nden (AB) coğrafi işaret tescili almış Çağlayancerit cevizi, festivalleri, tarihi değerleri, Aşıklık geleneği, yöresel yemekleri kırsal turizm arzları olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada köklü bir tarihsel geçmişe sahip olan ilçenin kırsal turizm kaynakları ve değerleri bakımından zenginlik gösterdiği, kırsal turizme uygun potansiyelinin olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Tüm yıl boyunca kırsal turizmden yararlanılabilecek bir mekân olması yörenin en güçlü yönünü oluştururken, kırsal turizm açısından kente göçün artması ve kırsal nüfusun azalma eğiliminde olması yörenin en zayıf yönü olmaktadır. Çağlayancerit cevizinin AB tarafından tescillenmesi en değerli fırsat, pansiyon, otel, lokanta gibi hizmet işletmelerinin yetersizliği ise tehdit oluşturmaktadır. İlçede kırsal kalkınmanın sağlanmasında yerel halk ve özellikle yerel yönetimlerde çalışanlar kırsal turizm konusunda bilgilendirilmeli ve bilinçlendirilmelidir. Çağlayancerit’te kırsal turizmin bir alternatif değil ana unsur olması oldukça elzemdir.

Abstract
Today, as in the whole world, the change in people's holiday preferences in Turkey has led to the emergence of different types of tourism. The fact that Turkey's mountainous areas and therefore its rural areas cover large areas makes it necessary to utilize the potential of these areas in the most appropriate way. Rural tourism, which is an alternative type of tourism, creates an alternative source of income for rural areas, is important for the rural development of regions, providing employment, and developing their socio-cultural structure. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the existing rural tourism potential of Çağlayancerit district, which is located in a mountainous and rural geography, to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the region, and to identify opportunities and possible threats. Çağlayancerit's rivers, recreation areas, plateaus, agricultural activities, Çağlayancerit walnut, which has received geographical indication registration from the European Union (EU), festivals, historical values, Minstrelsy tradition, and local food have been identified as rural tourism offerings. In the research, it was revealed that the district, which has a deep-rooted historical past, is rich in terms of rural tourism resources and values and has the potential suitable for rural tourism. The fact that it is a place where rural tourism can be utilized all year round constitutes the strongest aspect of the region, while the increase in migration to the city and the tendency of the rural population to decrease in terms of rural tourism is the weakest aspect of the region. The registration of Çağlayancerit walnut by the EU is the most valuable opportunity, while the insufficiency of service businesses such as hotels, pensions, and restaurants is a threat. In order to ensure rural development in the district, local people and especially those working in local administrations should be informed and raise awareness about rural tourism. In Çağlayancerit, it is essential that rural tourism is not an alternative but a main element.
