Abstract
Antik dönem Lidya Uygarlığına başkentlik yapmış, kültür turizminde önemli bir yere sahip, her yıl binlerce yerli ve yabancı turist ziyaret edilen Sardes çok sayıda önemli eser ve kutsal mekânlara sahiplik etmiştir. Bu araştırmada, Sardes’in inanç turizmi bakımından ulusal ve uluslararası alanda yeterli turizm potansiyeline sahip olup olmadığını ortaya koymaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, Sardes (Salihli) antik kentinin inanç turizm potansiyelinin incelenerek, bu bölgenin turizm potansiyelinin ortaya çıkarılıp sektöre ne gibi katkı sağlayacağını ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda “ Sardes antik kentinin inanç turizm potansiyeli var mıdır? Eğer varsa söz konusu bu alternatif turizm türü bölgenin turizm potansiyelinin artırılmasında etkili olabilir mi? sorularına cevaplar aranmış ve çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Yapılan bu araştırma sonucunda bu bölgenin inanç turizm potansiyeli ile ilgili fikir vermesi, bu potansiyelin geliştirilerek yörenin mevcut turizm potansiyelinin geliştirilmesine yönelik sunduğu çözüm önerileri sunması açısından önem arz ettiği düşünülmektedir.
Araştırmanın ana kütlesini Salihli Kaymakamlığı, Salihli Belediyesi ve Salihli’deki diğer kamu kurum ve kuruluşlarında çalışan yöneticiler oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama yöntemi olarak görüşme tekniği kullanılmış, doküman incelemesi ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakatlarla veriler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler betimsel içerik analiziyle değerlendirilmiş, Sardes'in inanç turizmi potansiyelinin GZFT (SWOT) analizi yapılarak, bu potansiyelin nasıl artırılabileceğine dair yöneticilere öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract
Sardes, which was the capital of the Lydian Civilization in the ancient period, has an important place in cultural tourism, thousands of local and foreign tourists visited every year, has many important artifacts and sacred sites. In this research, it has been tried to determine whether Sardes has sufficient tourism potential at the national and international level in terms of faith tourism. The aim of the research is to investigate the belief tourism potential of the ancient city of Sardes (Salihli) and to reveal the tourism potential of this region and how it will contribute to the sector. In this context, “Does the ancient city of Sardes have a belief tourism potential? If so, can this type of alternative tourism be effective in increasing the tourism potential of the region? answers to their questions were sought and Deciphering suggestions were presented. As a result of this research, it is thought that it is important to provide an idea about the faith tourism potential of this region, to develop this potential and to provide solution suggestions for the development of the current tourism potential of the region.
The main mass of the research is composed of managers working in Salihli District Governorship, Salihli Municipality and other public institutions and organizations in Salihli. The interview technique was used as a data collection method, and data were obtained through document analysis and semi-structured interviews. The data obtained were evaluated by descriptive content analysis, GZFT (SWOT) analysis of the faith tourism potential of Sardes was performed and suggestions were presented to the managers on how this potential can be increased.
