Abstract
Araştırmanın amacı sanatta farklı fikir ve kavramlara ışık tutan sanatçıları araştırmaktır. Aynı zamanda sanatta alternatif arayışların nasıl geliştiğini; Modernizmle nasıl bir ilişkisi olduğunu ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmaya örnek olabilecek sanatçılar ve eserlerinin karşılaştırması yapılarak konun anlaşılması sağlanmıştır. Albrecht Dürer, Vincent Van Gogh ve Pablo Picasso gibi sanatçılar sanatta alternatif arayışlara örnek olarak seçilmiş olup; bu sanatçılar araştırmanın kapsam ve sınırlılıklarını oluşturmuştur. Konuyla ilişkili olarak tarihsel dönemlerden bahsedilmiş ve kaynakçalarla desteklenmiştir. Araştırmanın problemleri şunlardır: Albrecht Dürer, Vincent Van Gogh ve Pablo Picasso’nun eserlerinde öne çıkan fikirsel yaklaşımlar nelerdir? Modernizmde ortaya çıkan alternatif arayışlar nelerdir? Sanatta fikir ve kavram ilişkisi neden önemlidir? Sanatçıları alternatif arayışlara iten sebepler nelerdir? Bu soruların cevaplarıyla birlikte sanat tarihinde düşünce, kavram ve fikrin neden önemli olduğuna dair cevaplar aranacaktır.

Abstract
The aim of the research is to research the artists who shed light on different ideas and concepts in art. At the same time, how alternative searches have developed in art; It is to reveal how it is related to modernism. The subject is understood by comparing the artists and their works that can be an example for the research. Artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso have been chosen as examples of alternative searches in art; these artists formed the scope and limitations of the research. Related to the subject, historical periods are mentioned and supported with bibliographies. The problems of the research are: What are the prominent intellectual approaches in the works of Albrecht Dürer, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso? What are the alternative searches that emerged in modernism? Why is the relationship between ideas and concepts important in art? What are the reasons that push artists to seek alternatives? With the answers to these questions, answers will be sought on why thought, concept and idea are important in art history.
