Abstract
Toplum içinde yaygın ve önemli bir olgu olan moda kişilerin sosyo-ekonomik durumu, sosyal çevresini, sınıfını, yaşını, ırkını ve özellikle de cinsiyetini tanımlamasına yardım eden toplumsal kimliği oluşturmanın ve ifade etmenin ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Bu faktörlerin etkisi ile birlikte bireyler tarafından değişik şekillerde algılanabildiği gibi, farklı biçimlerle de yansıtılabilmektedir. II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası yaşam koşullarının değişmesine duyulan duygusal tepkilerin bir ifade biçimi olarak çeşitli moda eğilimleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Modern toplumda sayısı oldukça fazla olan alternatif kültür biçimleri ve bu kültür biçimlerine dahil olan gençler egemen kültür değerlerine yönelik protestolarını giysi biçimleri aracılığıyla yansıtmışlardır. Gençlerin meydana getirdikleri alt kültürlerin ideolojilerinin de bir parçası haline gelen deri ve deri ürünler sıklıkla tercih edilmiştir. İnsan zekâsının ve becerikliliğinin gerçek bir kanıtı olan deri, şüphesiz medeniyetin gelişmesinde çok önemli bir rol oynamıştır. İlk insandan günümüze kadar deri, hemen hemen her tasarım ve moda çağının kalıcı bir özelliği olmuştur. Yapılan bu araştırma ile alt kültürlerin giyim göstergelerinden biri haline gelen deri ve deri ürünlerin geçmişten günümüze moda tarihi içinde parladığı bilinen glam & rock, punk ve grunge alt kültürlerin deri giyimleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Döneminde moda olgusu haline gelen “deri ve deri ürünler” seçilen görseller üzerinden teknik ve biçimsel özellikler açısından analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, bu grupların giyim tercihlerinin toplumsal mesajların iletişimi, kimlik oluşturmanın bir yolu ve moda ifadesinin önemli bir yansıması olduğu görülmüş, ayrıca müziğin ve moda tarzlarının birbirini nasıl etkileyebileceği konusundaki anlayışımıza önemli bir katkı sağlamıştır. Araştırmanın, deri ve deri ürünlerin kullanım alanları, kullanım şekli ve sembolik değerleri bakımından benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya koymak açılarından önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir

Abstract
Fashion is an important and widespread phenomenon in society. It is an essential part of the formation and expression of social identity, helping people define their socioeconomic status, social environment, class, age, race, and especially gender. Because of these factors, it can be perceived and reflected by people in different ways. Various fashion trends have emerged as expressions of emotional responses to changing living conditions after the World War II. Alternative cultural forms are quite numerous in modern society, and young people who belong to these cultural forms have expressed their protest against the prevailing cultural values through their clothing style. Leather and leather products, which have become a part of the ideologies of the subcultures created by the youth, have often been preferred. A true testament to human intelligence and ingenuity, leather has undoubtedly played a crucial role in the development of civilization. From the first humans to the present, leather has been an integral part of almost every design and fashion era. In this research, the leather clothing of glam & rock, punk and grunge subcultures was studied, which have become one of the clothing indicators of subcultures known in the fashion history of leather and leather products from the past to the present. A descriptive survey model was used for the study. “Leather and leather products,” which became a fashion phenomenon during this period, were examined for their technical and stylistic characteristics using selected images. As a result of the research, the clothing preferences of these groups have been shown to be a way to convey social messages, create identity, and reflect an important expression of fashion, and it has also made an important contribution to our understanding of how musical and fashion styles can influence each other. The study is considered important to show the similarities and differences in areas of use, patterns of use, and symbolic values of leather and leather products
