Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı okul müdürlerinin küresel iklim değişikliği ile ilgili farkındalık düzeylerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Kocaeli ili Başiskele ilçesinde resmi ve özel okullarda görev yapan 84 okul müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma tekniği ve rastgele örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya 21 okul müdürü katılmıştır. Araştırmada verileri toplamak için yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla görüşme yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Görüşme sonuçları içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Veriler yorumlanırken 3 ana tema kullanılmıştır. Daha sonra bu temalar kategorilere ayrılmıştır. Okul müdürlerinin küresel iklim değişikliği görüşleri temasında; insan etkisine yönelik ve doğal dengenin bozulmasına yönelik 2 kategori, küresel iklim değişikliğinin etkilerini azaltmaya yönelik faaliyetler temasında; yaşam şeklinin değiştirilmesine yönelik ve enerji tercihleri ve sanayi faaliyetlerine yönelik 2 kategori, küresel iklim değişikliği ile mücadelede eğitim kurumlarının rolü temasında; eğitime yönelik ve toplumu bilinçlendirmeye yönelik 2 kategoride incelenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre katılımcılar küresel iklim değişikliğinin çevre ve canlı yaşamı ciddi bir sorun olduğunu, küresel iklim değişikliğinin olumsuz etkilerinin azaltılması faaliyetlerinin bir devlet politikası olması gerektiğini ifade etmiştir. Küresel iklim değişikliği konusunda farkındalık oluşturmak için ulusal ve uluslararası projeler geliştirmek gerektiğini söylemiştir. Eğitimin ve okulların bu soruna farkındalık çalışmaları ve toplumu bilinçlendirme anlamında katkılar sağlayacağı görüşünü belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca yerelde belediyeler ve sivil toplum kuruluşları ile okulların ortak projeler üretmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract
The aim of this research is to reveal the awareness levels of school principals about global climate change. The universe of the research consists of 84 school principals working in public and private schools in Kocaeli province Başiskele district. Qualitative research technique and random sampling method were used in the study. 21 school principals participated in the study. In order to collect the data in the research, the interview method was preferred through a semi-structured interview form. The interview results were analyzed with the content analysis method. Three main themes were used while interpreting the data. These themes were then divided into categories. In the theme of school principals' views on global climate change; 2 categories for human impact and deterioration of natural balance, in the theme of activities aimed at reducing the effects of global climate change; In the theme of the role of educational institutions in combating global climate change; examined in 2 categories for education and for raising public awareness. According to the results obtained in the study, the participants stated that global climate change is a serious problem for the environment and living life, and that activities to reduce the negative effects of global climate change should be a state policy. He said that it is necessary to develop national and international projects to raise awareness about global climate change. They stated that education and schools will contribute to this problem in terms of awareness studies and raising awareness of the society. In addition, it was concluded that local municipalities, non-governmental organizations and schools should produce joint projects.
