Abstract
Bilimsel alandaki gelişmelerle birlikte önem kazanan bilim gazeteciliği; bilim dünyası ile geniş halk kesimleri arasında köprü vazifesi görmektedir. Medya kuruluşları günümüz piyasa koşullarında ticari kuruluş gibi hareket etmekte, reyting ve tiraj kaygıları neticesinde popüler içerikler medyada ağırlıklı yer tutmaktadır. Benzer durum bilim gazeteciliğinde de etkisini göstermektedir. Bilimsel konularda halka gerçekleri aktararak, bilim ile halk arasında etkileşimi sağlayan bilim gazetecileri bazı özel yetkinliklere sahip olmak durumundadır. Günümüzde bilimle ilgili bir birçok haberin bu alanda yeterli donanıma sahip olmayan, diğer alanlarda uzmanlaşmış muhabirler tarafından oluşturulduğu göze çarpmaktadır. Bu noktada bilim dünyası ile toplum arasında köprü vazifesi gören medyanın bilgiyi ne oranda doğru aktardığı ve kitlelerin aktarılan bilgilerin ne kadarını ne ölçüde anladığı önem taşımaktadır. Bilimsel gelişmelerin hayatımızın her alanında dönüşüme yol açması, bilimsel okuryazarlık kavramının önem kazanmasına yol açmıştır. Bireylerin gelişen teknolojiyi takip edebilmeleri, bilimsel tartışmalara katılabilmeleri noktasında bilim okuryazarlığı büyük rol oynamaktadır. Bu bağlamda bireylere medyada yer alan bilimsel içerikli enformasyonu doğru şekilde analiz edebilme becerisi kazandıracak bilim okuryazarlığının ilköğretim çağından itibaren müfredat programlarında yer alması önemli adım olacaktır. Söz konusu çalışmada bilim iletişimi ve bilim gazeteciliği kavramları tanımlanarak, bilim gazeteciliğinin sorunları irdelenmekte, bilim haberlerinde giderek etkisini gösteren magazinselleşme bağlamında bilim okuryazarlığı olgusu kuramsal olarak ele alınmaktadır.

Science journalism, which gained importance with the developments in the scientific field; It acts as a bridge between the scientific world and the wider public. Media organizations act as commercial establishments in today's market conditions, and popular content takes a heavy place in the media as a result of ratings and circulation concerns. A similar situation also shows its effect in science journalism. Science journalists, who provide the interaction between science and the public by conveying facts to the public on scientific issues, have to have some special competencies. Today, it is striking that many news about science are created by reporters who do not have sufficient equipment in this field and are specialized in other fields. At this point, it is important to what extent the media, which acts as a bridge between the scientific world and society, conveys the information correctly and to what extent the masses understand the information conveyed. The fact that scientific developments have led to transformation in all areas of our lives has led to the concept of scientific literacy gaining importance. Science literacy plays a major role in enabling individuals to follow the developing technology and participate in scientific discussions. In this context, it will be an important step to include scientific literacy in the curriculum since the primary school age, which will provide individuals with the ability to correctly analyze the scientific information in the media. In this study, the concepts of science communication and science journalism are defined, the problems of science journalism are examined, and the phenomenon of science literacy is theoretically discussed in the context of tabloidization, which is increasingly influential in science news.
