Abstract
Ülkemiz kıyı alanları bakımından oldukça zengin bir coğrafyaya sahiptir. İnsanoğlu yerleşik hayata geçtiği günden bugüne kadar kıyı alanlarını hayati ve ekonomik işlevlerinden dolayı tercih etmektedir. Önemli ekosistem alanları olarak kabul edilen kıyı alanlarının yanlış kullanılması ekosistemin bozulmasına, bitki ve hayvan neslinin tükenmesine ve biyolojik çeşitliliğin azalmasına sebep olmaktadır. Günümüzde artan nüfus yoğunluğu kentleşmenin kıyısal alanlara kadar ilerlemesi ve kıyıların ekonomik nedenlerle kullanılması bu alanların korunmasını, sürdürülebilirliğini ve gelecek nesillere aktarılmasını engellemektedir. Bunun sonucunda kıyı alanlarındaki değişimin artması ve kıyı popülasyonun zarar görmesi ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu planlama çalışmasında kıyısal alanlardaki koruma kullanma dengesinin oluşturulması nedeniyle kıyısal alanların yerinde gözlemlenmesi, incelenmesi, analiz edilmesi ve değerlendirilmesi öne çıkan bir yöntem olmaktadır. Bu yöntem kapsamında yapılacak analizlerin gelecek çalışmalara öncülük etmesi planlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma Umurbey kıyı kesimindeki kıyı değişiminin sebeplerinin gözlem, inceleme, analiz ve değerlendirme aşamalarıyla birlikte aynı zamanda ihtiyaç duyulan koruma statüsü önerisinin getirilmesi gerekliliğinin irdelenmesine yardımcı olacaktır. Araştırma alanına ait veriler gerekli kurum ve kuruluşlardan, internet sitelerinden ve yerinde gözlemle elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler ile alanın eksiklikleri ve bu eksikliklerin sebepleri irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak çalışma alanı olan Umurbey kıyı kesiminin birçok farklı etkenden dolayı değişime uğradığı gözlemlenmiş ve alana ait daha kesin sonuçlar elde edilmesi açısından detaylı çalışmalar yapılması gerekliliği ortaya konmuştur.

Abstract
Turkey is a country that is very rich in terms of coastal areas. Mankind has preferred coastal areas because of their vital and economical functions since the day that they settled down. Misuse of coastal areas, which are considered to be important ecosystem areas, causes ecosystem degradation, plant and animal extinction and a decrease in biological diversity. Today, the increasing population density, the progress of urbanization to coastal areas and the use of coasts for economic reasons; prevent the protection, sustainability and transfer of coastal areas to future generations. As a result, the increase in the change in coastal areas and the damage to the coastal population come to thefore. In this study, due to the creation of the protection-use balance in coastal areas, on-site observation, examination, analysis and evaluation of coastal areas is a prominent method. It is planned that the analyzes to be made within the scope of this method will lead to future studies. This study will help to examine there a sons for the coastal change in the Umurbey coastal area, along with the observation, examination, analysis and evaluation stages, as well as the necessity of bringing the needed protection status proposal. The data belonging to the research area were obtained from the necessary institutions and organizations, websites and on-site observation. With the data obtained, the deficiencies of the field and there a sons for these deficiencies were examined. As a result, it has been observed that the coastal part of Umurbey, which is the study area, has under gone changes due to many different factors and it has been revealed that detailed studies should be carried out to obtain more precise results for the area.
