YEREL HALKIN DENİZ TURİZMİNİN GELİŞİMİNE YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞ VE ALGILARININ BELİRLENMESİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA: HATAY İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract
Hatay ili hem coğrafik hem de sosyo-kültürel yapısı ile önemli bir turizm destinasyonudur. Alternatif turizm türleri arasında sayılan birçok turizm türü için oldukça yüksek bir potansiyele sahiptir (göl ve nehirler, müze ve ören yerleri, yeme-içme) ancak, özellikle uzun sahil şeridi ve uygun iklim koşulları olmasına rağmen deniz turizminin gelişimi sınırlı kalmıştır. Bir destinasyonda turizm gelişiminin sağlanabilmesi için atılabilecek ilk adımın yerel halkın algı ve görüşlerinin saptanması olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle, Hatay ili genelinde yerel halkın deniz turizminin ekonomik, sosyo-kültürel ve çevresel etkilerine karşı algı ve görüşlerinin saptanması amacı ile Hatay’ın tüm ilçelerinde minimum 5 yıldır ikamet etmekte olan 18 yaş üstü yerel halktan anket tekniği ile veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, yerel halkın deniz turizmin sosyo-kültürel etkilerini olumlu algıladıkları, ekonomik etkilerini çok olumlu algıladıkları, çevresel etkiler konusunda ise kararsız kaldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Hatay ili yerel halkının deniz turizmine hazır ve açık oldukları, çevresel tereddütlerin de ortadan kaldırılması ya da minimize edilmesi durumunda Hatay’da mevcut olan deniz turizminin gelişimine açık olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract
Hatay province is an important tourism destination with its geographical and socia-cultual structure. Although there is very high potentials such as lakes, rivers, museums, ruins, food and beverage especially long costline and suitable climate conditions for different types of tourism, the development of marine tourism has been limited. It is thought that the first step which can be taken for the development of tourism in a destination is to determine the perceptions and views of local people. For this reason, data were collected by questionnaire technique from local people who are over the age of 18 and have been residing at least 5 years in all disrticts of Hatay, in order to determine the perceptions and views of the local people on the economic, social-cultural and environmental effects of marine torism in Hatay. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the local people perceive socia-cultural effects positively, perceive the economic effects very positively, and remain undecided about the enviromental effects. It has been concluded that the local people of Hatay are ready to develop marine tourism, and if environmental hesitations are eliminated or minimized, they are open to the development of marine tourism in Hatay.
