Abstract
Sanat yaşantıların, kültürel değerlerin ve farklı disiplinlerdeki gelişimin küçük birer yansıması ya da sorgu-lanması şeklinde biçimlenmiş, ancak bazı sanat dalları güncel konularda toplumların yönlendirilmesinde önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir. Karikatür sanatı da toplumu ilgilendiren güncel olayları mizah yoluyla abartılı bir görsellikle yansıtmak-tadır. Karikatür sanatı, Türkiye’de 1800’lerde basında yer alan karikatürlerle bilinirken, 21. yüzyılda çoğunlukla basılı, sanal ve sosyal medya da yer alan görsellerle ilişkilendirilmektedir. Türk Sanatı tarihinde Batılılaşma dönemi ile başla-yan batı’dan etkilenme süreci Karikatür Sanatı tarihinde de yaşanmış ve pek çok karikatür sanatçısı yetişmiştir. Bu makale, karikatür sanatçısı Ahmet Aykanat’ın kendine has sanat üslubunun, konu tercihlerinin, kullanılan teknik ve malzemelerin, eserin üretimi sürecinde sanatçıyı etkileyen etmenlerin neler olduğunu ve sanatçının karikatür öğreti-minde kullandığı öğretim yöntemini belirleyen nitel bir araştırmadır. Çalışma grubu, ödülleri ve alana katkıları nede-niyle örnek bir olay olması bakımından amaçlı örneklem yoluyla Ahmet Aykanat ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Veriler araş-tırmacı tarafından oluşturulan görüşme sorularından, sanatçıya ait albümlerden ve medyada sanatçıyı konu edinen haberlerden elde edilmiştir. Görüşme soruları, açık uçlu ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile oluşturulmuştur. Görüşme formunda 35 soru sorulmuş, 30’u görüşme öncesinde hazırlanmış, 5 soru ise sanatçı ile görüşme sürecinde spontane oluşturulmuştur. Eser İncelemesi yoluyla eserlerde yer alan metaforlar belirlenmiş, görsel anlatım ve içerik ilişkisi irdelenmiş, incelenen karikatür örnekleri görüşme formundan elde edilen veriler ışığında betimsel analiz yolu ile yorumlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, sanatçı Ahmet Aykanat tarafından güncel olayların karikatür sanatıyla nasıl yorumlandığını ve eserlerde kullanılan biçim, içerik, renk, tema, teknik ve malzemelerin neler olduğunu göstermiştir

Abstract
Art has been shaped as a small reflection or questioning of experiences, cultural values and development in different disciplines, but some branches of art have played an important role in guiding societies on current issues. Car-toon art reflects current events that concern the society with an exaggerated visuality through humor. While the art of cartoon is known for the cartoons in the press in the 1800s in Turkey, it is mostly associated with images in print, virtual and social media in the 21st century. The process of being influenced by the West, which started with the Westerniza-tion period in the history of Turkish Art, has also been experienced in the history of Cartoon Art and many cartoonists have been trained during this period. This article is qualitative research that determines cartoonist Ahmet Aykanat’s unique art style, subject preferences, techniques and materials used, the factors that affect the artist in the production of the work, and the teaching method used by the artist in cartoon teaching. Through purposive sampling method, the study group is limited with Ahmet Aykanat in terms of being an exemplary case due to his awards and contributions to the field. The data are obtained from the interview questions created by the researcher, the albums of the artist and the news about the artist in the media. Interview questions are created with an open-ended semi-structured interview form. 35 questions are asked in the interview form, 30 of them are prepared in advance, 7 of them are structured during the interview process with the artist. The relationship between metaphor, visual expression and content in the works is ex-amined through the review of the works, and the cartoon samples are interpreted through descriptive analysis in the light of the data obtained from the interview form. The findings not only reveal how the current events are perceived by the artist Ahmet Aykanat with the art of caricature but also the forms, content, colors, themes, techniques and materi-als used in the works.
