Abstract
Muhafazakar düşünce toplumu oluşturan ve ayakta tutan bir takım değerler olduğunu ve bunların mutlaka muhafaza edilmesi gerektiğini savunur. Bu değerlerden en önemlileri aile, düzen ve dindir. Muhafazakarlara göre Aydınlanma bu değerleri hiçe sayarak toplumu tehdit etmektedir. Aydınlanma düşüncesi yeni bir tarihi başlatmış, aklın yetkin ve her şeye hükmedebileceği fikri geçerlilik kazanmıştır. Din, kamusal hayattan çıkarılmaya çalışılmış ve dinin sosyal yönü Aydınlanma tarafından reddedilmiştir. Muhafazakar düşünce, yüzyıllardır ayakta duran ve tarihin sınamasından geçmiş geleneklerin bir kenara atılmasını reddetmiştir. Çalışmada, aile, toplumsal düzen, toplum ve din gibi olgu ve değerlerin muhafazakar düşünce açısından ifade ettiği önem ele alınmıştır. Aynı zamanda muhafazakar düşüncenin önemli düşünürlerinin görüşleri de bu vesileyle incelenmiştir.

Abstract
Conservative idea argues that there are a number of values which form and sustain society, and that they must be preserved. The most significant components of these values are family,order and religion. According to the conservatives, Enlightenment threatens the society by ignoring these values. The idea of enlightenment has started a new history, the idea that the mind is competent and can rule everything. Religion was tried to be removed from public life and the social aspect of religion was rejected by Enlightenment. Conservative thought has refused to put aside traditions that have been standing for centuries and have been tested in history..According to conservative people, enlightenment threatens society by ignoring these values. In the study the importance of values and facts such as family, social order, society and religion are expressed in terms of conservative idea. At the same time, the views of prominent philosophers conservative thought were also examined.
