For communities living in Anatolia and in various cultural regions out of Anatolia, Neolithic Period is known to be the period when people passed to the settled life. Communities’ passing to the permanent life laid the ground for the emergence of some socio-cultural, religious and artistic developments. The settled life that emerged with the Neolithic Period caused the societies of the period to need pottery production and use. It is possible to come across archaeological findings of painted ceramics tradition emerging during Neolithic Period in Anatolia thanks to excavations performed in various archaeological sites of Anatolia. It is understood that painted ceramics tradition emerging together with Neolithic Period in Anatolia presented differences in terms of materials, production techniques and style characteristics in various cultural regions. Within the context of the study, it will be tried to make an evaluation about painted ceramics findings unearthed as a result of archaeological excavations conducted about Anatolian Neolithic Period in Marmara Region, Central Anatolian Region, West Anatolian Region and South-eastern Anatolian Region. In the study, an assessment about painted ceramics unearthed as a result of archaeological excavations carried out in significant Neolithic Period settlement places of Anatolia such as Demircihöyük, Kuruçay, Çatalhöyük (Eastern), Bademağacı and Hacılar will be made. Within the context, it will be tried to evaluate the painted ceramics obtained in various archaeological settlements dated Neolithic Period by considering material, production techniques, forms and style properties. The archaeological sites, where painted ceramics findings dated to Neolithic Period are obtained, will be tried to be evaluated considering their locations, research and excavation chronologies, and stratigraphic characteristics. In this study, the domestic production techniques of painted ceramics obtained in the end of archaeological excavations carried out in different cultural sites of Anatolia, and together with artistic understanding emerging from various economic, political and socio-cultural relations established in various cultural regions will tried to be evaluated.
