Increasing employment and achieving economic growth are among the main goals of the country's economies. The general opinion is that the increase in employment will provide economic growth and the growth in the economy will increase employment. However, in practice, there are studies that have obtained results that there is no relationship between these two variables and that refer to issue of the growth without employment. The purpose of this study, the relationship between employment and economic growth in Turkey is to analyze, taking into account gender differences. The relationship between female employment, male employment and economic growth was examined by Toda-Yamamoto (1995) causality test using quarterly data for the period between 2006-2019. Before the causality test, the stationarities of the series were investigated by ADF and PP unit root tests, and then the VAR model was established. After testing whether the model used in the VAR analysis is stable and whether there is an autocorrelation problem, Toda-Yamamoto (1995) causality analysis was performed with the Eviews 10 program. As a result of the empirical analysis, no causality relationship between economic growth and female employment and male employment could be determined. This result supports the phenomenon of growth without employment.
